Nearly 30,000 pounds of raw beef imported from South America and distributed in two states have been recalled because they hit store shelves without undergoing the required inspection.

Corte Argentino USA LLC, located in Aventura, Florida, recalled approximately 29,628 pounds of raw beef imported from Argentina, the Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Aug. 7.
The raw beef, which was distributed in Texas and Florida, has been recalled at the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) highest warning level.
The agency classified the recall as Class I, meaning that it's a "high or medium risk" recall entailing "a health hazard situation" with "a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death," per the FSIS.
Which Beef Products Are Being Recalled?
The following products are subject to the recall, according to the FSIS:
- Various weight cardboard boxes containing "FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC" boneless beef "Top Sirloin Butt" ("Cuadril Sin Tapa")
- Various weight cardboard boxes containing "FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC" boneless beef "Eye Round" ("Peceto")
- Various weight cardboard boxes containing "FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC" boneless beef "Topside Cap Off" ("Nalga AD S/Tapa")
- Various weight cardboard boxes containing "FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC" boneless beef "Flat" ("Carnaza Cuadrada")
- Various weight cardboard boxes containing "FrigorIfico Gorina SAIC" boneless beef "Knuckle" ("Bola de Lomo")
FSIS Warns Consumers Not to Consume Recalled Beef
Per the FSIS, the items were produced between May 15 and May 20. The affected boxes have the Argentine establishment number "EST. N° OF. 2025" and the shipping mark "26644-AA."
According to the FSIS, all commercial imports of meat must be inspected by the agency to verify their condition and certification before entering U.S. commerce.
The agency advised consumers to throw the products away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund. The products were distributed throughout Texas and Florida.
"There have been no confirmed reports of illness or injury due to consumption of these products," the FSIS said. "Anyone concerned about an illness or injury should contact a healthcare provider."
The agency also said it will enforce recall effectiveness to ensure that the affected products are no longer available.
