These Stylish Container Homes Are a Hot Housing Trend in Texas

They say to never judge a book by its cover, and in the case of cargo container homes, that statement couldn't be truer.

Most people would dismiss the idea of a cargo container being a home. Not Keen Development Group, though. They have a vision that is both practical, impressive and reasonably affordable. Their container homes start at just over $20,000.

"You can really build some amazing things," Kristin Kaiser, owner of Keen Development told The Picayune. "Anything from a hunting cabin to homes and, yes, even offices."

These custom container homes are gaining popularity all over central Texas. There is a high demand for these home in the Hill Country, and Keen continues to deliver by developing new and improving old floor plans.

Keen's website gives recreational, residential and commercial option builds. Customers have several design options for the homes, including hardwood flooring, kitchen and dining areas, bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as outdoor patio areas.

However, don't think that you are limited to just one cargo container because Keen doesn't stop there. Some plan constructions use more than one container for those not on board with the "tiny home" trend.
