A concert featuring Air Supply, along with Little River Band, was called off this week just two days in advance. Furthermore, now comes word that ZZ Top ditched their upcoming concert with even less notice. Actually, a short announcement on their Instagram states, "ZZ Top management have just announced that the band's concert with Cheap Trick at the Hollywood Bowl slated for today, August 5, has been cancelled. The ZZ Top tour has unforeseen personnel matters that have forced the band to cancel its appearance at the Los Angeles landmark." Therefore, some details about refunds for ticket holders are included in the statement.

Because of this change, Cheap Trick pivoted. Per People, Cheap Trick quickly made alternative arrangements. They did a concert at the iconic Troubadour instead on August 5.
ZZ Top's Frontman Made a Comment
Additionally, there is this quote from a band member. "The band's frontman, Billy F. Gibbons commented, "Insurmountable obstacles require canceling our Hollywood Bowl performance. Friends, fans and followers of ZZ Top are the best in the business and the band is counting on everyone to bear with us for this brief interruption."
Fans Had Mixed Reactions
Writing posts in the comments section, fans were divided in their feelings. In fact, some shrugged the cancellation off. However, others were peeved.
Wrote one, "Stop charging hundreds of dollars for tickets. I saw them 4 years ago at a local 1500 seat theater for $70."
Noted someone else, "Love you guys. Stay strong. Live long. See you in the future."
Another follower had this to say. "Our rock stars are getting older. Hoping they're okay."
This person had a snarky remark. "Cancelled due to excessive age." (For the record, Billy Gibbons is 76, Frank Beard is 77, and Elwood Francis is 65.)
And there was this forgiving message. "...I just know one thing: ZZ Top can do no wrong."
The Band Formed in 1969
In fact, ZZ Top first got together in the thick of the 1960s Woodstock era. Their hits include "Tush," "Legs," and "Sharp Dressed Man." The band's current tour will take them to California, New York, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Colorado. Texas, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio. And other stops are planned as well. The tour ends in November.
