As Tennesseans come together to help those affected by last week's raging wildfires, Zac Brown Band are doing their part to keep spirits high.
Brown sent some of his Southern Ground staff from Peachtree City, Ga to Gatlinburg, Tenn. with a very special delivery.
"We sent our kitchen truck that we have, which is an 18-wheeler truck with a fully operating commercial kitchen," Southern Ground Public Relations Specialist Alyssa Goodman told the Knoxville News-Sentinal. "We call it 'Cookie,' so we sent Cookie up and she arrived on Friday, and Cookie actually relieved the kitchen staff at Rocky Top Sports World ... so she was able to give the staff at Rocky Top Sports World a break, let them regroup, clean up and then get back to it. I believe Sunday evening is when they started serving meals again at Rocky Top."
The gift was a welcome sight to those in the area who are reeling from ongoing recovery efforts. With a little southern hospitality and delicious food, east Tennessee residents have one more thing to be thankful for. Cheers to Zac Brown and the Southern Ground crew for bringing some much needed smiles to the community.
