If you have kids (or grandkids), you've definitely heard of the viral squishy toys. They're the newest viral craze in the colorful world of Gen Alpha. Whether they're Needoh cubes or the viral squishy dumplings, the viral toys have captivated kids everywhere.
But did you know that they could stop you from being able to go on vacation? Well, neither did scores of parents—and it's to the point that the TSA has released a specific statement about it.
Per the New York Post, scores of TikToks have shown distraught children being consoled by their parents as TSA agents discard their beloved toys.
One incident happened in Charleston International in South Carolina. Celine Trang's daughter, Cassie, had a pretty unfortunate incident occur on their way back home, per Yahoo. A TSA agent had seen the girl's butter squishy and flagged it, citing the insides as a "liquid".
In case you weren't aware, the butter toys have been sold out in several stores for a while, making this an even more bitter situation for Cassie.
And, of course, there's also the safety aspect. Trang explained, "The TSA agent explained that people sometimes empty squishies and replace the contents with other substances."

The Viral Toys Can Be Saved
But luckily for Trang, this was something that could be alleviated. Of course, she couldn't take the squishy home on the flight, but the TSA agent helped them out.
They used the airport's guest services department to mail the squishy back to their home. Of course, this isn't the most convenient of solutions.
The TSA released a statement last month about what is and isn't allowed in the world of these viral toys. "Gel-filled toys that appear to have less than 3.4 ounces of gel or liquid and meet 3-1-1 requirements are permitted in your carry-on bag and must comply with TSA policy for liquids, gels, and aerosols."
Makes sense, right? They added, "They must fit in a quart-size resealable bag, with your other liquids, gels, and aerosols."
Another option is placing the viral toys in the carry-on, but you need to be careful about potential rips. Good luck!
