It's been just over a year since Yellowstone aired its final episode, December 15, 2024, to be exact. So, fans could be forgiven for growing impatient as they await news of a spin-off show.

Fortunately, that fanbase has finally received a substantial update on when The Madison, which is the official Yellowstone spin-off, will be teased by Paramount+. The budding streaming giant released a "This Year On Paramount+" teaser video earlier this week, citing The Madison as releasing at some point this year.
Interestingly, filming has already wrapped on Season 1 and Season 2. Paramount is so confident in the show's success that they've already got two full seasons in the book. Therefore, they should have ample time to plan out season three, should it be cleared.
Not only has Taylor Sheridan made use of his current freedom surrounding creative vision and recording, but he's also roped in two huge names for The Madison. Michelle Pfeiffer is expected to be in both season one and season two. Kurt Russell has been tipped as a key player in the second season.
A huge show gets a huge spin-off, and with it come huge names to comprise some roles. Sounds... huge.
There Is Also News on Yellowstone Spinoff 'Marshals'
Another spin-off in the works is Marshals, from CBS. The good news for Yellowstone fans is that Luke Grimes has agreed to reprise his role as Kayce Dutton for the show.
"On the last day of shooting, I thought it was my last day as Kayce. It was over to me," Grimes told People. "It was seven years of playing a person that I'll never see again, except for having his hat and jacket in my closet, and it wasn't until probably three or four months after that that everything started aligning for the [spinoff]."
Gil Birmingham will also be a familiar face for Yellowstone fans. He's set to reprise his role as Thomas Rainwater. The other familiar face will be Mo Brings Plenty, who was present for all five seasons of Yellowstone.
That trio should ensure there's a complete throughline between the new spin-off and the original show. How Marshals and The Madison fare as competition will be interesting to see. Still, we can certainly hope for the occasional crossover episode, however far-fetched that wish may be.
