How does it feel to still raise a child while being a grandmother? Half the allure of being one is dealing with children on a part time basis. You did the arduous work of raising your son or daughter for 18 years and they go on to devour the world on their own, making their own experiences. Then, if they decide to have kids, you get to watch them deal with the stress just like you did. Occasionally, you get to take care of the grandchildren but there's not nearly as much exhaustion. Unfortunately, for Wynonna Judd, she's doesn't get to deal with this setup. Nowadays, she's the one raising her granddaughter by herself.

Recently, Judd appeared as a cohost on Today with Jenna & Friends (her appearance captured by PEOPLE Magazine.) There, she opens up what life as a grandma is like with her 2 year old granddaughter Kaliyah. Wynonna has been raising the young child ever since her daughter Grace Kelley has been arrested various times. Ultimately, she describes the time with her granddaughter the same as her usual time on the farm: nice and painless.

"My life on the farm is simple and sweet, which is what we need more of. We don't do phones at dinner," Wynonna says. "And I do what I have to do to learn how to just live off the road. 'Cause I was on the road at 17, so I never got to learn how to do life outside of show business."
However, Judd does quip that Kaliyah tends to dominate over the TV, leaving her to find entertainment through social media instead. Moreover, she jokes that Ms. Rachel causes her to lose her cool at her unending optimism. "I don't have a computer. I don't watch television unless it's planned 'cause I'm raising my 2½-year-old granddaughter, I listen to her," Wynonna says.
