John Cena has been going bald for a while. Any wrestling fan could tell you that, and the same can be said for those who have enjoyed his transition into the acting world. As such, Cena has made the bold move to try to address his recent hair loss, opting for a full-scale hair transplant.

The former WWE superstar, who is arguably the greatest wrestler of all time, shocked his millions of fans recently, posting a picture of himself going full bald on social media.
Cena is reportedly receiving the hair loss treatment at the Anderson Center for Hair in Atlanta. According to Cena, it was the jibes from WWE fans that led him to begin his hair loss therapy, a journey he began in 2024.
"I saw their signs that said 'The bald John Cena,'" Cena told PEOPLE in August, 2025. "They pushed me into going to see what my options were. I now have a routine: red-light therapy, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner — and I also got a hair transplant last November. I hate the fact that if there wasn't so much shame around it, I'd have gotten it done 10 years ago."
It's worth noting that totally shaving your head isn't necessary for a hair transplant. However, Cena noted that he "went all in" because he wanted the best results.
John Cena Retired From the WWE in 2025
Cena, 49, is adapting to life outside of the WWE. Sure, he's been a part-time member of the company's roster in recent years, as he continues to grow his presence within Hollywood. However, in December 2025, Cena allowed the curtain to fall on his in-ring career.
For the first time during his wrestling career, he tapped out, allowing Gunther to secure the win and "get over" as Cena said goodbye to the crowd.
"In losing my last match against Gunther...I guess, parallel to my career, it was a perfect end," Cena said during an appearance at the New Orleans Fan Expo. "A whole lot of people thought it sucked, and a whole lot of people thought it was special. That's kind of been my story for 23 years. I thought it was perfect."
Cena is clearly all-in on making the most of his second career. Having a hair transplant isn't necessary to be a successful actor. However, if it helps Cena feel more comfortable in his own skin, who are we to judge? The only question remaining is how successful the transplant will be?
