Given his hulking physique and renowned gym dedication, Cena stunned fans when he admitted that he occasionally enjoyed McDonald's, a far cry from a healthy meal. Not only did Cena visit the Golden Arches drive-thru, but he revealed his wild go-to order that left the internet puzzled.
During an interview with Delish in July, Cena detailed his favorite McDonald's meal: two double cheeseburgers and three six-piece McNuggets. Notably, Cena shared that he skips the sauce.
"When it comes to foods that have an accompaniment, I always like to try the food itself. Does the food deliver? Or do I need the sauce to make the food great? I don't need the sauce for the McNuggets," Cena said.
It's crazy enough to imagine the former WWE Champion eating McDonald's, whose unhealthy food selection has made several customers sick. Envisioning the perennial WrestleMania headliner bashing 18 McNuggets with no sauce is even more difficult to picture.
Internet Reacts to John Cena's Wild McDonald's Order
Cena's no-sauce McDonald's order has gone viral, and the internet can't believe the WWE star's meal customization.
"No sauce with McDonald's nuggets is diabolical," an Instagram user wrote.
"Thinking about 18 nuggs with no sauce makes my entire body shrivel up like a mummy," another replied.
"Next time they try to charge me for extra sauce, I'm gonna tell them to give me John Cena's leftovers," a user wrote.
An Instagram user joked, "Out here raw doggin' nuggets."
Another user labeled Cena the "Doctor of Nugganomics," a play on words from his Ruthless Aggression-era gimmick.
"Far more concerned about no fries than no sauce," an Instagram user wrote.
Other social media users pointed out Cena's oddly specific request for 18 McNuggets instead of ordering a 20-piece meal.
"Why not spring for the 20 piece?" a user replied.
Another user added, "Cena, they made a 20-piece for a reason."
Now that he is retired, Cena doesn't have to be quite as strict about his dietary intake. Still, it's surprising that sauce isn't included in his post-retirement fast-food endeavors.
