WWE Star Narrowly Escapes Death After Landing on Head Following Botched Ladder Spot

Tiffany Stratton may have won the 2026 Women's Money in the Bank match, but it came at a cost as she botched a ladder spot.

Tiffany Stratton may have won the 2026 Women's Money in the Bank match, but it came at a cost. Stratton, now a two-time Ms. Money in the Bank winner, won a six-way ladder match against Lash Legend, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez, Sol Ruca, and Lola Vice.

Yet, Stratton almost had her night cut short. At one point in the match, she climbed a ladder outside the ring before hitting a botched 'Swanton Bomb' and landing on the back of her head.

The move went down in such a way that none of her counterparts were able to catch her, meaning the back of her head and neck took the full brunt of the impact on the floor.

Unfortunately for Stratton, this was the second time she's botched that move off a ladder. The first came in 2023, when she ended up in a similar situation during NXT's 'Stand and Deliver.'

Ultimately, Stratton got back on her feet and continued in the match. She won after knocking Lash Legend off the top of the ladder, then unhooking the MITB contract after roughly a 15-minute slobberknocker among the six contestants.

When speaking to WWE's Cathy Kelley during the Money In The Bank post-show, Stratton admitted she was feeling the effects of her botched dive off the ladder.

"Physically I'm a little banged up," she said, h/t WrestleZone. "I'm sure we all saw what happened out there, a couple of crazy bumps, but all in all, I won this briefcase. So, I'm doing amazing."

Tiffany Stratton Was Lucky to Escape Death

When speaking on an episode of Wrestling Observer Radio after the WWE Premium Live Event, Bryan Alvarez explained just how dangerous Stratton's mistake was and what led to the botch in the first place.

"They set the ladder up like this [sideways], and instead of jumping the direction of the legs so the ladder doesn't move, she jumped off the side," Alvarez said. "That's how Charly Manson almost killed himself. That's how multiple people... cause you can't jump off the side, because as soon as you jump, the ladder flies this way, and she just went straight down."

Alvarez then detailed why none of the other wrestlers in the match were in a position to catch Stratton on her way down from the ladder.

"No one could have caught her because they were expecting her to go out, but you can't go out when you jump off that side. In the post-show pretty much admitted, 'I'm still not good.'"

Professional wrestling is a high-risk business. Mistakes can happen at any moment. Fortunately, Stratton was able to walk away from this spot and still claim the title. Let's hope that she hasn't got any underlying damage that could keep her sidelined in the near future.
