A Pennsylvania man was scammed out of $42,000 by an unidentified impersonator who posed as WWE superstar Rhea Ripley.

WPXI-TV reported that the crime occurred in March, citing information shared by the Pennsylvania State Police in Kittanning.
The 64-year-old victim refused to cooperate with police for the investigation, so it is not known how the impersonator convinced him to spend tens of thousands of dollars.
Still, it isn't entirely surprising given how dedicated Rhea Ripley's cult following is.
Ripley, a two-time WWE Women's Champion, is one of the most beloved wrestlers in history.
Affectionately known as "Mami," Ripley is especially popular among the alternative, goth and LGBT communities.
Even Grammy winner Drake admitted he is a Ripley fanboy and called the Royal Rumble winner his "muse."
Rhea Ripley, who appeared at Fanatics Fest 2026, is currently sidelined with a knee injury.
Ripley has been battling a knee injury since Night of Champions and was forced to vacate her WWE Women's Championship in August while she recovers.
Ripley revealed via Instagram on Aug. 7 that she underwent surgery for a torn meniscus in her right knee.
"Surgery was never a first option for me, but it got to the point that it was needed. First one down. Hopefully no more," she wrote on social media. "I've survived. Now it's time to start thriving again so I can get back to what I love to do!"
The former WWE Women's World Champion did not specify a timeline for her return.

While some wrestling fans are being scammed out of money, a former WWE star is giving fans a legitimate avenue to spend money and connect with her.
Dawn Marie, 55, officially joined OnlyFans last month.
During her heyday in WWE, Dawn Marie was scarcely used as an in-ring performer. She debuted in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) in 1998 as Lance Storm's smoking-hot manager and valet driver.
In ECW, Dawn Marie also managed the Impact Players, a tag team duo consisting of Lance Storm and Justin Credible. The Impact Players won the ECW Tag Team Championship twice with Dawn Marie as their manager.
