When speaking to the media after the event, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque confirmed that Brie had been taken to the hospital following her injury.

"She's injured," Levesque said. "I don't have an update yet. She was here, got some treatment here and has been taken to the hospital to get some scans done. So I don't have a clean answer on it yet. I know it was her shoulder. It seems pretty bad."

Levesque continued by noting that Brie's injury was part and parcel of being a professional wrestler. However, he did wish her well and share his hope that the issue isn't as bad as first thought.

"Hopefully it won't be as bad as we thought it was. But that's the nature of the game, and we'll pivot accordingly for everything. It's unfortunate. I hate that it's part of our business."

Fortunately for the WWE, Brie's injury was the only one sustained throughout the first night of SummerSlam. The hope is now that she'll make a speedy recovery and return to the ring in the near future.

WWE Will Run Night Two of SummerSlam on August 2nd

Following a successful opening night of SummerSlam, wrestling fans will now turn their attention to the upcoming card for Sunday, August 2nd. That card will include the following matches:

  • Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio
  • Penta vs. Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship
  • Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin for the United States Championship
  • Finn Balor vs. Sami Zayn to become the number one contender for the WWE Undisputed Championship
  • Charlotte Flair vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Chelsea Green vs. Jade Cargill vs. a mystery opponent in a ladder match for the interim WWE Women's Championship.
  • Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Night one was a major success, with Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk stealing the show. As such, those competing on Sunday will now need to raise the bar in order for the night to be remembered. Hopefully, no one else suffers an injury in the process.
