Marc Izard, a British wrestling fan who was reported as missing ahead of WWE's WrestleMania, has been found dead in Las Vegas. He reportedly passed away from natural causes. Marc's family is now working on getting his body back home, so that they can bury their loved one.
Following the tragic news, the "Internet Wrestling Community," also known as the "IWC" paid tribute to the late fan.
"Losing someone like this is never easy, and I hope they can find some comfort in the love that's being sent their way right now," former WWE women's champion Leilani Kai wrote on Facebook.
One of the last times Marc was seen in public was when Marc attended a book signing for Natalya "Nattie" Neidhart on April 16. Upon learning of his death, Natalya posted a
"Hearing about the passing of someone from our wrestling family, Marc Izard, is heartbreaking," Natalya wrote. "Wrestling brings people together in such a special way, and moments like this remind us how precious life truly is. My thoughts are with Marc's family, friends, and everyone who loved him."
Revolution Pro Wrestling, England's top wrestling promotion, also issued a statement regarding Marc's death.
"Very sad to hear the passing of Marc Izard. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends," Rev Pro wrote on X. "He was one of us. A fan of this crazy sport and his presence and support will be dearly missed."
Wrestling Fans Also Pay Tribute to WWE Fan Marc Izard
Wrestling fandom online can often be quite intense. Fanbases are split, and cracks exist within those smaller circles. However, upon learning of Marc's passing, multiple wrestling fans paid their respects online.
"My families prayers and I'm sure the prayers of many many wrestling fans are with his family," one user wrote on X. "I pray they find closure and peace. At least he was somewhere doing something he loved."
A wrestling blog known as Perched On The Top Rope, also paid tribute to Marc.
"I did not know Marc, but my friends remember seeing him at WWE World," the account wrote. "My heart breaks for his family. He came to the USA to have a good time at WrestleMania and sadly passed away. May he Rest In Peace."
Marc's family has now launched a GoFundMe to help raise the necessary amount to bring his body back to the UK and cover burial costs.
