Having first been diagnosed with brain cancer in 2016, Joe underwent surgery to have the cancer removed. Unfortunately, it came back in 2022, leading to another operation. Then, in 2025, Joe was diagnosed with brain cancer for the third time, before being moved into hospice care in early June 2026.

Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling announced the news of Joe's passing with a statement on social media.

"At 9:13 a.m. today, June 26, our brother Joe Doering passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family," the statement said. "Though his time on this earth lasted only 44 years, Joe packed a thousand years' worth of living into every one of them."

The statement continued by shedding light on who Joe leaves behind and the memories they will have of him.

"Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Lindsay, his family, and leaves behind countless friends and devoted fans around the world who will forever remember his strength, courage, and spirit. Rest in peace, Joe. You will never be forgotten."

Joe Doering Worked for Multiple Wrestling Promotions

Throughout Joe's career, he worked for multiple wrestling promotions, both domestically and abroad. He spent some time in All Japan Pro Wrestling between 2007 and 2010, and then returned to the promotion between 2010 and 2019. He won a championship while on the roster.

Joe was also part of TNA's roster on multiple occasions; most of that time, TNA was second only to the WWE for popularity in North America. He's likely best remembered for being part of Violent By Design, which ran between 2020 and 2022.

Joe also spent some time with Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling and the World Wrestling Council. They're both independent promotions in North America. He also spent a brief spell with Florida Championship Wrestling, a feeder system for the WWE.

Currently, there's no information regarding Joe's impending funeral. That information will likely remain private for family and close friends.
