Lesnar, 48, made his WWE debut in 2002 and has been a powerhouse in the main event scene ever since. Known for his rib-shattering suplexes and devastating strength, Lesnar was virtually unstoppable throughout his WWE career.

During the opener of Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, however, the Beast Incarnate may have finally found his match.

Against the 6-foot-6 rising star Oba Femi, Lesnar failed to inflict significant damage and was pinned in roughly five minutes. For the first time, the creator of Suplex City looked inferior as he got "squashed" at Allegiant Stadium.

Following the stunning loss, Lesnar left his boots and fighting gloves in the ring, signaling that he was retiring.

After taking a moment to soak in the emotions of his farewell, Lesnar threw up the X and told his mentor and longtime manager, Paul Heyman, "it's over." The two then shared an embrace in the ring while the crowd roared "Thank you, Brock" throughout Allegiant Stadium.

There was speculation that Lesnar would retire later this year at SummerSlam, which will be hosted in Lesnar's hometown of Minneapolis. Seemingly, though, the former WWE and UFC champion decided to call it quits at the Show of the Immortals.

Brock Lesnar Had a Legendary WWE Career

Lesnar transitioned from a highly successful collegiate wrestling career to professional wrestling, starting in OVW, WWE's developmental ranks, in 2000. He was promoted to the WWE main roster in 2002.

Lesnar, known as the Beast Incarnate, became the youngest wrestler to hold a WWE world championship when he defeated The Rock at SummerSlam that August at 25 years old.

Overall, Lesnar won the WWE Championship seven times and held the Heavyweight Championship twice. He is a two-time Royal Rumble winner and former King of the Ring. Roughly a year after his WWE debut, Lesnar was the cover athlete of the WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain video game.

Should his retirement be official, Lesnar will likely be an inductee of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2027.
