Nothing ruins my day more than going in for a routine organ removal and coming out with a whole baby. But, one woman, thinking she had appendicitis, ended up giving birth instead.

I guess it's an easy mistake to make. The pain from appendicitis is agonizing, and so is giving birth, I would imagine. Anna Jackson, 22, had absolutely no idea what was going on when she took herself to hospital, fearing a burst appendix.
It started as what she thought were bad period craps, which was already unusual. She hadn't had any for years due to the birth control pill. But, as the cramps became worse, she feared the worst, with the worst being appendicitis and not a full-blown birth.
But, when she came into the emergency ward, doctors requested she take a pregnancy test which came back positive. In fact, it was so positive that it was time to go immediately. Forty minutes later she was the mother of Talia Smith, a healthy, 7-pound, baby girl.
New Mother Got A Little More Than Just An Appendix Removed
Thinking she was only going to have her appendix removed and coming out with an entire human child was a little bit of a shock. Anna Jackson had no idea she was pregnant, having been partying, eating what she liked, and having a great time running up to the birth.
She had no symptoms of being pregnant before the birth until she suspected appendicitis. "I had quite bad acid reflux and if I ate I got really bloated. But I'm lactose intolerant so I thought I was eating too much dairy. It would go back down so I thought it was nothing. It was actually her moving around," she told The New York Post.
The young woman had even been to work that day prior to giving birth, putting down her suspected appendicitis to cramps. She recalled how her family drove her into her local A&E. "They kept making jokes about being pregnant. I said don't be so silly. All of a sudden I started waddling."
She had noticed a bump but just put it down to bloating. It turned out that her bloat was a child, ready to come out into the world.
