A woman looking for a scenic view on a Ferris wheel suffered a grisly injury instead, with her scalp yanked from her head when her hair got caught on the ride.

25-year-old Bali Maroti Talikote was riding solo on the Ferris wheel in Maharashtra, India, on Sept. 11. However, the wholesome fun came to a horrific end when Talikote's hair got snagged on a bearing on the back of her seat, per NDTV.
NSFW, gruesome footage shows the poor woman screaming in anguish as horrified onlookers gawk. As the wheel turns, her scalp is viscerally ripped from her head. Talikote nearly goes through a second rotation on the Ferris wheel before the screams of onlookers finally result in the ride operators stopping it.
Police who were already on the scene for the "Tanha Pola" fair, a festival at a nearby temple reportedly attended by thousands of people, freed the woman. She was rushed to a nearby private hospital in Pusad. Her condition was listed as serious.
Of course, the comments section of the footage posted to Instagram is filled with shocked onlookers.
"This is straight out of a Final Destination movie ?. Absolutely terrifying! New fear officially unlocked. ?," one top comment read. "Final Destination got real; it's scary," a second onlooker added.
"Absolutely shocking... People should take care while sitting on any rides," another Instagram denizen wrote. "This is the reason I never get on these low quality amusement rides anywhere in India. They don't check the quality of these rides and I wonder if there is actually any regulations for it," a fourth onlooker added.
Woman's Gruesome Injury Follows Another Harrowing Ferris Wheel Incident in India
Meanwhile, this is hardly the first terrifying Ferris wheel incident to come out of India in 2026.
Back in April, an overloaded Ferris wheel in Uttar Pradesh, India, toppled over. Reportedly, the 60ft ride had over 80 people aboard when the collapse occurred. At least 30 people were injured in the incident, with 10 of them being children.
After the harrowing collapse, which reportedly happened after only two turns of the wheel, first responders took nearly four hours to recover victims pinned under the wreckage. It's speculated that the base of the ferris wheel was poorly anchored, resulting in the tragic accident.
