According to Fox 5, upon arriving at her home, the woman noticed that the car port door was open. Upon arriving, she heard the man crying, although that wasn't her first thought.

"When I entered the house, I could hear what sounded to me like a man crying," the woman said. "And at first I thought I had left the TV on, but then I looked and the TV was off, and the lights were still off."

After confirming the sound didn't come from the TV, she made a startling discovery that would scare anyone in her situation. However, given the circumstances, she wasn't able to see the man sitting on her sofa very well.

"I never saw him, I just heard a man crying," the woman said. "I hadn't turned the lights on, and I could tell somebody was on the sofa, and it looked like they had a blanket that I keep there on the sofa pulled over them."

Authorities Arrive

Instead of investigating who exactly was on her sofa, the woman just decided to turn around and ran out of her house. At around 9:50 p.m., the woman called 911 and reported the horrifying and rare situation she was in.

According to the

Fauquier County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived at the residence located on John Marshall Highway. Upon arrival, they noticed the man and his injuries, and immediately rendering first aid. Emergency Medical Services arrived and subsequently rushed the man to the Winchester Medical Center. As per the sheriff's office, the unidentified man was later pronounced dead.

No details surrounding the man's identity or the gravity of his sustained injuries have been shared by authorities. It is also unclear whether the man was the victim of a crime that could have possibly caused his fatal injuries.
