The very same day that Bloomquist was found, the Norton Shores Police Department issued a release, asking for help in locating the 74-year-old. In the release, the police department detailed that Bloomquist was last seen visiting the Little River Casino on April 3.

"Surveillance footage shows her leaving the casino at approximately 5:30 p.m. and driving southbound on US-31," the release read. Bloomquist was believed to be driving her 2024 GMC Terrain. "She has not been seen or heard from since," the release added.

However, according to an April 7

news release shared by the Mason County Sheriff's Office, it was revealed that Nancy Bloomquist had been found on Sunday.

Bloomquist Found

As per the news release, Mason County deputies responded to reports of a burning vehicle located in Mason County's Grant Township. The vehicle matched Bloomquist's 2024 GMC Terrain. A search was started in the surrounding area, aided by the use of drones.

Hours later, at around 7:08 p.m., Nancy Bloomquist was found lying next to a downed tree in a "heavily wooded area." Authorities found out that, after exiting the casino, Bloomquist attempted to return to Norton Shores. However, she became lost. While driving, her vehicle broke down and even caught fire.

Bloomquist exited the vehicle, leaving her cell phone behind. Afterward, when attempting to return to her car, she once again became lost. Bloomquist ended up spending Thursday night next to the downed tree, attempting to shelter herself from the rain. The cold was so severe that she was unable to stand up on Friday. She remained on the ground until she was found by authorities.

In an interview with WZZM, Mason County Sheriff Kim Cole said, "She's incredibly, incredibly lucky she's still alive. I don't know her, but she's a tough gal."

The outlet previously talked with Bloomquist's brother, who revealed that she had hit her head one day before she went missing. He believed that Nancy suffered a concussion, which might explain her getting lost. At the time, Nancy Bloomquist refused to get treatment, choosing to go to the casino instead.
