In Glens Falls, New York, the body of a woman has been pulled from a burning clothes donation box. An investigation is underway to discover exactly what kind of foul play led to this rather gruesome body disposal.
The New York police were called to a parking lot located in Hudson Avenue. The clothes donation box had been set alight, and neighbours were concerned. At around 2.20 am, the fire department was dispatched to extinguish the flames.
However, on further investigation, they discovered the body of a woman inside the clothes donation box. The woman inside showed signs of burning and was, of course, dead. At present, local residents and stores are being questioned in an attempt to figure out how and why he was in there.
Clothes Donation Body Identified
Since the police pulled the burnt woman from the clothes donation box, they have identified her as 43-year-old Michelle McFarren. She was a resident of Glen Falls. The autopsy revealed that it was the fire that killed her, implying that she became trapped in the box before it set on fire, possibly digging for a hot new outfit.
The bin is a very large one, quite capable of fitting a whole person inside. Why she was in there and why it caught fire is still under investigation. However, police are asking for anyone with any information to come forward.
There have been other cases in the past of people becoming trapped in clothes donation boxes. It usually occurs when they try to pull clothes from the box. In an attempt to clothe themselves, they will often reach inside to see what they can find.
However, the openings are often equipped with teeth. These are in order to prevent people pulling clothes from the bins. If a person reaches too far into the donation box, they can fall in and become stuck.
Their only hope is to pray someone comes past the bin and hears their cries for help. But, like this woman who was found burned inside the clothes donation box, sometimes it's too late.
