Woman Dies Days Before Birthday After Lightning Strikes Tree And Causes It To Fall On Her

Sometimes your time is up and fate steps in to stamp your ticket. A very unlucky woman was struck by the debris of a tree that exploded after being hit by lightning, killing her and injuring one other.

They always say, if you're in a lightning storm, stay away from things like trees. They can act as lightning rods, and when they get hit, they explode. One woman learned the hard way as she and her friend sheltered by a tree in Cawdor in New South Wales, Australia.

According to the local emergency services, they were sitting around 6 meters from the tree when it was struck by lightning. This caused the tree to explode, throwing debris far and wide. Rosanna Hashem was struck by one of the burning pieces of wood and killed.

The exploding tree also injured another woman. She was rushed to the hospital and is being treated for injuries to her hands and face. The chances of this happening are incredibly slim but ended in the death of this mother of four just days before her birthday. She has left behind children and a husband.

Family Mourns Death Of Mother After Lightning Caused Tree To Explode

The mother of four was a beloved community member and an owner of a grooming business. Her staff and family will miss her. As always, there has been a GoFundMe started for the woman. Apparently, it is to help with the financial burden of funeral expenses, household costs, and the continued care of her children.

To be killed by lightning striking a nearby tree is a tragic and very unusual way to die. Despite the unlikelihood, there's a lesson in there. It should be a warning for anyone thinking of standing outside during a lightning storm. The chances of getting hit by lightning, or exploding trees are small, but never zero. Best to just stay indoors, I think.

Her GoFundMe states, "Her sudden passing has left her husband and children facing an unimaginable loss, not only emotionally but also financially as they navigate life without her." Does nobody have life insurance these days?
