Firefighter paramedic Graham Hoffman, 29, reportedly responded to a routine call by local police on the weekend. Shanetta Bossell, 38, the patient, allegedly stabbed Hoffman in the chest while the ambulance was moving. Emergency Services rushed Hoffman to the North Kansas City Hospital, but he died from his injuries.

A report by KSHB provides some insight into what allegedly happened in the ambulance. It also reveals two recent run-ins with authorities. Police reportedly arrested Bossell on Wednesday, April 23, after she allegedly bit an officer several times. Officers booked her for second-degree assault and resisting arrest, but she posted her $10,000 bond and was released. Before the April incidents, Police issued Bossell a citation for driving into the back of another vehicle and leaving the area. The alleged rear-ending happened on March 31.

Court Documents Explain Where The Woman Found A Knife

KSHB cites court documents that explain what happened in the ambulance and how Bossell obtained a knife. Police were reportedly in the area for a welfare check. Bossell allegedly had a lacerated finger but did not want to go to the hospital. She refused a ride home from the police but eventually agreed to the hospital trip in the ambulance. Officers told the paramedics they would follow the ambulance for the journey.

At around 1:25 PM, the ambulance driver turned on the emergency lights and exited the vehicle. They reportedly shouted to the officer following, "She has a knife." The court documents indicate that Bossell found the knife inside the ambulance in the walkway between the cab and the rear.

During the altercation, the outlet explains that Bossell got into the driver's seat multiple times and bit the officer on the arm. He reportedly struck her on the back of the head with his weapon so she would let go. The situation came under control when more officers arrived at the scene. The ambulance driver was reportedly assisting Hoffman during the altercation as he became non-responsive.
