A 41-year-old English woman went to the hospital thinking she had a hernia... but came back with a bouncing baby boy after giving birth just hours later.

Bournemouth, Dorset resident Sammy Evans was clueless that she was carrying her future baby, whom she later named Noah, when she visited doctors for feeling "a bit odd" on Sept. 14.
"So I'd been feeling a bit odd," Evans recalled This Morning on Oct. 20. "I [had] been feeling like it for a while, and I wasn't sure what it was."
Evans explained that she'd dismissed missing her period for several months for a deep bench of reasons, including being over 40 and recent changes in her weight. She had undergone gastric bypass surgery two years earlier and lost well over 100 pounds. Evans also pointed out a peculiar lump near her ribs to her doctor.
After ruling out a hernia, Evans was tested for pregnancy. While the test actually came back negative, her doctor urged her to take a home pregnancy test later because they noticed a faint line, per Discover SWNS.
That test came back positive.
Still, Evans thought a possible birth was some time away and likely began planning her next steps. However, baby Noah had other ideas.
She told This Morning that after attending her water aerobics class, she decided to get some shuteye. Evan said that around 1 am, her stomach started to ache. At first dismissing it as period cramps, Evans eventually decided to head back to the hospital.
Doctors Confirm Woman's Odd Lump is a Full Term Baby
Yet another pregnancy test and a scan at the hospital confirmed that Evans was pregnant. Very pregnant.
"I said, 'Okay, so am I losing it? Is this what this pain is?' Because [with] my first son, I had an emergency C-section, and I had an induced labor. I didn't know what labor pains felt like, so I couldn't put the two and two together," Evans explained on the talk show.
However, she eventually discovered she was in full-on labor. Shortly after, she contacted her 38-year-old partner, Triston McKend, who was working in Spain. She shared on This Morning that the couple had agreed not to have more children, as Evans has a 10-year-old son and a 16-year-old daughter.
By the time McKend managed to make the jaunt from Spain to England, his son had already been born. Noah reportedly weighed in at just over 8 pounds and was perfectly healthy.
Of course, Evans was forced to reconcile being a mother all over again after thinking that door was closed forever.
"I was a little bit like, 'Oh God, is he real?' I just couldn't process it," Discover SWNS reported her saying. "I wouldn't say there was a bond straight away. It was just 'Oh my gosh, that's my baby.'"
McKend also seems to be adjusting to the big baby news. The engineer lives in London, more than two hours away from Evans. However, The Mirror reports he's moved temporarily closer to help with the new, unexpected little one.
