Wisconsin Shooter's Accomplice Breaks Silence
Natalie Rupnow, a 15-year-old girl, carried out an attack on the Abundant Life Christian School right before Christmas. NBC News reports that Runpow "shot and killed a teacher and a student" during her attack. Additionally, she wounded six others. Police reported that Runpow then died from "an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound."
While law enforcement was investigating potential motives for the shooting, the found the Wisconsin shooter's alleged accomplice. Alexander Paffendorf breaks his silence in a court video online. Daily Mail reports that the baby-faced accomplice admits to having contact with Rupnow.
They state, that Paffendorft admitted to federal agents that he had been messaging Natalie about "attacking a government building with a gun and explosives." Additionally, neighbors of the accomplice claim to have seen police enter his apartment and leave with a "black gun box."
While Paffendorft has not been charged with any wrongdoing yet, he is under criminal investigation. Due to the investigation, his weapons have been confiscated, and will be in custody through April. Although the Wisconsin shooter's alleged accomplice admits to having contact and conversations with her, more investigation is needed to see exactly what role he played in the tragedy.
Tragic Day For Abundant Life Christian School
On that terrible day, Natalie Runpow entered the school with two handguns. Using one of the guns, she shot a 14-year-old student and a teacher. While police appeared on the scene just seconds after the 911 call, those two victims had already passed. Additionally, six others were injured as well as Runpow herself. Later, she was pronounced dead.
Police still have not identified a motive for the shooting. While some sources point to a turbulent home life full of divorce and custody battles, nothing is known for certain yet. Additionally, although some argue that the attacks on the victims were targeted, the police say they do not know if any of the attacks were specific or targeted.
Police and FBI are currently continuing their investigation by sorting through online records and speaking with Rupnow's parents and classmates. Through this, they hope to uncover a motive and learn all the necessary details of this harrowing case.
