Jennifer Garner, Helen Mirren + More to Celebrate Willie Nelson's 90th Birthday in TV Special

CBS will air Willie Nelson's birthday bash as a two-hour primetime special.

On the weekend of April 29-30, music stars joined celebrities in celebrating fellow artist and actor Willie Nelson's 90th birthday across a two-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl. The concerts were filmed by Blackbird Presents and will be aired as a two-hour special by CBS on Sun., Dec. 17 at 8:30 PM ET. In addition, it'll stream live and be available on demand on Paramount+.

Nelson announced the broadcast, titled Willie Nelson's 90th Birthday Celebration, during a Thursday night (Nov. 2) appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

"It is the sincere privilege of our lives to have produced these shows celebrating our beloved Willie, and to partner with CBS to bring this special to fans around the world," shared Mark Rothbaum and Keith Wortman, creators and executive producers, in a press release. "Viewers will now have the chance to sing, and laugh, and cry and experience the joy of this celebration like never before."

The broadcast will be hosted by Jennifer Garner, Chelsea Handler, Woody Harrelson, Ethan Hawke, Helen Mirren and Owen Wilson.

Musical acts that weekend included Nelson, Beck, Gary Clark Jr., Sheryl Crow, Snoop Dogg, Norah Jones, Miranda Lambert, Dave Matthews, Nelson's sons Lukas and Micah Nelson, Keith Richards, George Strait and Chris Stapleton.

For more live streamed Nelson content, watch this weekend's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Nelson will join recent inductee Dolly Parton on the short list of acts in both the country and rock halls of fame. Nelson joked to Colbert that the Rock Hall must've had the wrong number when he got the call.

This year's ceremony airs live tonight (Nov. 3) at 8 PM ET on Disney+. It'll stream on demand afterwards. Carrie Underwood is among the advertised performers.
