In a recent video posted by Willie Nelson’s son, Lukas, you’ll see the country legend still carries the same strong soul he always has.

The video shows Nelson, 81, going at it with a punching bag. His son eloquently captioned it “more evidence of dad being a bada** at 81.”

Hitting the speed bag isn’t the only physical activity Nelson enjoys. He’s been active in martial arts for over 20 years and just before his 81st birthday, he earned a 5th-degree black belt.

A prominent figure in the Outlaw Country genre, Nelson was always known for going against the grain. His determined and unwavering attitude has earned him much of his success over his career.

In 1993, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He also became the oldest country singer to have a No. 1 song in 2003 with the release of “Beer For My Horses” with Toby Keith.

As resilient and tough as he was back then, perhaps he is even more now. It takes a lot more effort these days to tour the country, playing shows night after night, but he presses on and now we know how.
