On the social media app, the country music icon sits between his sons Micah and Lukas. All three of them were sporting matching cowboy hats and black tees. Lukas Nelson captions the photo, "Grammy family," which is appropriate, seeing as Willie was nominated for more than one award this year.
At the 68th Grammys, Nelson was up for two awards: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Americana Album. Although Nelson was beaten out by Zach Top and Jon Batiste, he's definitely not hurting in the Grammy department. In his career thus far, Nelson has taken home 12 Grammys total and has been nominated 59 times. The fact that he's even still getting recognized at his age is impressive alone.
Then again, he is the Willie Nelson.
Although the country music legend didn't attend the Grammy ceremony himself, his son, Lukas, graced the red carpet in a brown three-piece suit and even made an appearance on stage.
The middle son of Willie played guitar for Reba McEntire during the "In Memoriam" segment of the Grammys, as she sang a special version of her song, "Trailblazer".

Willie Nelson has three sons in total, even though only two of them were shown in that Instagram picture. The first is the eldest, Billie Nelson, who was a product of Willie's first marriage to Martha Matthews. Tragically, Billie passed away by suicide on Christmas Day in 1991.
In a recent 2025 interview, Willie spoke about how losing Billie was the "lowest point" in his life. He shared with Dan Rather, "I felt like if I could get through that, I could get through anything. It puts everything else in perspective—the money, the taxes, the fame—none of it matters when you're dealing with that."
At the time, Willie was dealing with a $32 million tax bill he'd received from the IRS in November of 1990. This resulted in his property being raided and many of his personal belongings being taken.
Willie's two living sons, Lukas and Micah, are both professional musicians. They are both products of Willie's current marriage to Annie D'Angelo.
