Willie Jones Hits the Open Road in Sweet Video For 'Windows Down'

Louisiana native country artist Willie Jones' "Windows Down" is a care-free anthem for roadtrip-bound lovebirds everywhere.

"Let me pick you up/ Let's ride in my Chevy," Jones sings. "Lighten the mood 'cause it's been a little heavy/ Turn the music up and ride with the windows down."

The music video features Jones riding with his girlfriend through gorgeous scenery in a classic Chevrolet.

Raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Jones first turned heads in 2012 when he wowed Simon Cowell as a contestant on The X Factor USA with his rendition of Josh Turner's "Your Man." He was just 17 years old at the time. Pop star Demi Lovato would go on to mentor Jones on the show.

The country singer previously joined Cameron Dallas and Shawn Mendes on the Magcon Tour and appeared as part of Cameron Dallas' Netflix show Chasing Cameron.

Jones seamlessly blends a variety of musical influences, from hip-hop and pop to country and R&B, into a sound that's uniquely his own. He grew up freestyle rapping with his friends, performing Randy Travis and Josh Turner songs and winning the high school talent show with his deep Southern twang.

"Willie is writing mature songs but with vernacular that's accessible to kids right now," Nashville songwriter Jimmy Robbins, who's written with Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert and more, told Rolling Stone in 2019. "The way he speaks is very current. There's a freeform, in-the-moment thought process that happens with him, but he's never sacrificing what we love in Nashville, which is the craft of songwriting."

Jones has been splitting his time between Shreveport and Los Angeles to work on his forthcoming debut album.

In addition to "Windows Down," the country music singer has released "Bachelorettes on Broadway," "Down For It," "Whole Lotta Love," "Runs in Our Blood" and "Back Porch."

Willie Jones' new single, the "Down For It" remix featuring Atlanta hip-hop artist T.I., is out on Nov. 20.

'Windows Down' Lyrics:

Let me pick you up, let's ride in my Chevy
Lighten the mood cause it's been a little heavy
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down
Let's go to that spot where we used to kick it
Let's skip town, get the hell up out the city
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down
Let's ride with the windows down

Nothing on the news but bad news
Everytime I turn it on they always sing the blues
Politicians tell lies but imma tell the truth
So listen up cause it's about to go down

I got a full tank of gas with nowhere to go
Put your bag in the back and let's hit the road
I got that soul and that trap up on the stereo
So listen up cause it's about to go down

So let me pick you up, let's ride in my Chevy
Lighten the mood cause it's been a little heavy
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down

Let's go to that spot where we used to kick it
Let's skip town, get the hell up out the city
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down
Let's ride with the windows down

So why don't we let the good times roll
Just lay it back, put it in cruise control
Happiness is the ultimate goal
So listen up cause it's about to go down

I got a heart full of love that I'm tryna spread
If you're tired of all the haters then let's put 'em to bed
All I need is your permission and a go ahead
So baby girl, let me drive

So let me pick you up, let's ride in my Chevy
Lighten the mood cause it's been a little heavy
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down

Let's go to that spot where we used to kick it
Let's skip town, get the hell out of the city
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down
Let's ride with the windows down

So when I pull up, better be ready
We can ride steady
Let's ride, let's ride, let's ride

I got a full tank of gas with nowhere to go
Put your bag in the back and let's hit the road
I mix that soul with that trap up on the stereo
Don't go to touchin' on my aux that's a no no

Just let me pick you up, let's ride in my Chevy
Lighten the mood cause it's been a little heavy
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down

So let me pick you up, let's ride in my Chevy
Lighten the mood cause it's been a little heavy
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down
Let's go to that spot where we used to kick it
Let's skip town, get the hell up out the city
Turn the music up and ride with the windows down
Let's ride with the windows down

So when I pull up, you better be ready
There's no need to go fast, we can ride steady
When I pull up, you better be ready
