Willa Gray Akins arrived in Nashville from Uganda on Thursday, May 11. According to People, Lauren met the child, "Blessing," during a 2016 trip to the country with 147 Million Orphans. She felt instantly connected with the orphaned baby girl. When Thomas saw a picture of Lauren and Blessing together, he knew that their bond was special.
After months of paperwork and planning, Willa Gray Akins is now happily at home with her new parents. Both Thomas and Lauren shared images of their new daughter on their social media pages this afternoon.
"We have been in this adoption process for what seems like forever and are just so filled with joy that we are all finally home together," Rhett wrote on Instagram. "Thank you to everyone who prayed every single day for this sweet girl."

Lauren is also expecting the couple's first biological child, also a baby girl, in early August. It will be a busy summer for Thomas Rhett, who is taking a short break from the road before his concert schedule ramps up again this fall.
Congrats to the Adkins family!
