According to an eviction petition filed by her landlord and reviewed by the New York Post, Miriam Yarimi was the protagonist of a violent episode while living at her Midwood apartment. As per the document, Yarimi pounded a hammer against her neighbor's door while screaming and threatening. Reportedly, a child was present at the time.
The incident reportedly happened on March 24, 2024, at around 6:41 p.m. As per the document, Yarimi was "verbally abusing, cursing, threatening, yelling, and screaming" at the time. The female neighbor even spoke to The Post, saying, "It was her," referring to Yarimi. The latter lived at the apartment building with her then-husband Shneur Kovitz. The two have divorced since.
The female neighbor, until this day, has no idea why the attack took place. "It's very emotional. . . . it's been too much," said the neighbor.
Damages
Police sources said the hammer swings at the door left many puncture marks, and the entry keypad was damaged. The landlord, in the legal documents, estimated damages amounting to $3,000. However, Yarimi was not charged with criminal mischief at the time, which applies to any damages above $250.
"If the individuals in [the apartment] did not have their apartment door locked, you would have attempted to seriously injure them," the eviction petition reads.
Furthermore, the court papers called Yarimi's alleged actions and conduct "dangerous and detrimenal" to the "physical and emotional well-being" of the ones living in the apartment building. As a result, Yarimi's lease was terminated on April 2024, but her eviction case remains open. Furthermore, documents show that Yarimi still owes a whopping $37,800, which translates to 12 months' worth of rent.
Miriam Yarimi was involved in a horrifying crash in New York City on Saturday, March 29. At around 1:04 p.m., as per PEOPLE, mother Natasha Saadaher and her two daughters, Diana, 8, and Deborah, 5, were allegedly struck and killed by an Audi A3, driven by Yarimi. Authorities revealed that Yarimi first collided with a Toyota Camry before striking the family.
Saadaher's son, a 4-year-old boy, is currently in critical condition. Reportedly, he has lost a kidney as a result of the incident. Yarimi was charged with three counts of second-degree manslaughter, three counts of criminally negligent homicide, and four counts of second-degree assault.

a very sad situation that, had there been legitimate interventions (mental health and medical), might have had better results.
