"Drinking About You" singer Jason Aldean just gave a candid reason why he's above encores in his signature gruff style.

Of course, even casual concertgoers know the time-old routine of the encore. Fans gleefully cheer for a performer to come back out on stage to do at least one more song after the concert is seemingly finished. The knowing anticipation alongside the payoff helps fans go back into the sad ol' world with a skip in their step and a song in their hearts.
Not so for Jason Aldean lovers. They probably leave his concerts, taking off their cowboy hats and shrugging, defeated.
Fans of Aldean, who shuttered his Nashville steakhouse earlier this year, probably already know the score about him not bothering with encores. The 49-year-old, currently on his 2026 "Songs About Us" tour, simply takes a honky tonk stroll off stage after dropping the mic on his final song. Seasoned fans of the "She's Country" singer know he ain't coming back out.
Well, Aldean recently opened up about his philosophy on encores, with the wordsmith labeling them as "stupid."

In all seriousness, Aldean's logic behind his war against encores holds some weight.
The "Big Green Tractor" singer explained it all at a recent show.
"There's a thing at the end of a show, a lot of times, called an encore, where you guys think the show is over, and the artist goes backstage," he tells the crowd in
fan footage shared by Minneapolis/St. Paul station K102. "You guys sit out here and clap for like five minutes trying to get them to come back out and play a couple more songs."That said, the country star doesn't subscribe to that ol' song and dance.
"It's called an encore, and I think it's stupid," he added. "I feel like if I'm back there and you guys are out here, we're just wasting time."
The veteran performer prefers to just gives fans his all in one emotional burst.
"So the way I like to do it, I'm just gonna play you guys everything we got. When the show's over, it's just over," he concluded.
Well, the word is officially out. No encore for Jason Aldean fans. He's a one-and-done sort of fella.
Meanwhile, Aldean probably won't have to worry about encores at a recently announced high-profile gig. The iconic Grand Ole Opry announced earlier today that Aldean has joined the lineup of performers set to induct Rhett Akins as a member on Oct. 13.
