The White House's official Instagram and X accounts have recently posted some pretty strange stuff. And it looks like people still aren't sure what any of it means.
As reported by the New York Post, the posts first started circulating around 9:15pm ET on Wednesday, March 25. The strangest part? The White House didn't even respond to a request for an explanation—and they even deleted one of the posts.
The first post consisted of someone's black boots, with a woman saying "It's launching soon... right?". The video also showed a line of text reading "sound on". The post was made to look like it was an accident—was it intended? We're not sure. Either way, it's now been deleted from both platforms.
The second video, posted at around 10pm ET, shows a black screen. It then goes on to show a single iPhone message, with the iconic notification sound. It included an American flag in one frame of the video. And this one's still up.

People Across the Political Spectrum Have Criticized the White House for the Videos
Not many people seemed to be too happy at the whole debacle, according to the outlet.
National Review senior writer Noah Rothman highlighted how obnoxious the whole thing seemed to him. "This communications strategy is inscrutable and obnoxious, and it's not reassuring anyone. You guys know we're at war, right? There have to be at least a handful of people around over the age of 25."
Rothman's colleague, Jeff Blehar, thought of it in a more comedic way. "Always great when the White House official account starts posting creepy snatches of video like they're outtakes from 'The Ring'. Next one will just be a child's voice whispering 'SEVEN DAYS'." Admittedly, quite a funny quip.
Others seemed to take more offense over the whole thing. "This is psychotic behavior. We are in a major conflict..." John Jackson, a veteran and critic of the current administration, wrote. "They are vagueposting War of the Worlds slop. What in the f*** is this supposed to mean?"
While we still honestly aren't sure what any of it means, some have speculated that it might have to do with Iran. But, either way, it's all a little cryptic.
