While Other Restaurants Are Struggling, This Chain Is Opening Five New Stores This Month

While many restaurant chains are trying to stay open, one continues to expand at an unbelievable clip with five new locations in July alone.

Many restaurant chains are struggling to stay open. Last week, we reported that the chain Red Robin, known for its delicious hamburgers and unlimited steak fries, may close up to 50 of its locations nationwide.

A few days earlier, pizza chain Papa Murphy's announced plans to close 50 of its restaurants. Then, back in April, BBQ chain Smokey Bones closed six of its locations without notice.

But one chain is not only succeeding at an unbelievable clip, but it's also expanding. Raising Cane's is opening new locations this month. And three of them are in brand-new markets.

Raising Cane's Is Frying Up Success

As reported by Parade, Raising Cane's, known for its chicken fingers, is expanding to five new locations across the country this month, with several openings already underway.

One opened in Johnson City, Tennessee, on July 7. Six days later, Jacksonville, North Carolina, got its own Raising Cane's. Tomorrow, July 21, Albany, Georgia, will get its first taste of the chain's famous Cane's sauce.

These three locations are brand-new markets for the rapidly expanding restaurant chain. A location in Los Angeles, California, has yet to have an opening date announced, and Schererville, Indiana, also opened a location.

What Is the Secret to Cane's Success?

If there was one word to describe Raising Cane's tremendous success, it would be "simplicity."

The restaurant was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 30 years ago by Todd Graves. While other restaurants have tried to expand their menu to bring in customers, Cane's only offers four items on its menu: chicken fingers, crinkle fries, coleslaw, and garlic bread.

But the real draw of Cane's is its tangy sauce. It's perfect for its hand-breaded chicken and its crispy fries. And while other restaurants have attempted to imitate the recipe, they all fall short.

By remaining focused on doing one thing well, Raising Cane's opened around 100 locations last year. This month's five restaurants are part of the nearly 100 it plans to open this year, as the chain continues its aggressive expansion into new states.
