Yellowstone season 5 has been one for the books. The Duttons have experienced tragedy, the most intense sibling rivalry known to man, arrests...the list goes on. Along the way, there have been fistfights, political upheavals and scandalous romances. All this drama has us wondering....what's next for our favorite morally ambiguous Montana family? We got a taste of what's yet to come during the season five mid-season finale, which aired on Paramount on Jan. 1 and included a ton of Jamie and Beth drama. We saw Jamie and his new paramour Sarah Atwood making good on their plan to impeach daddy Dutton. We also saw Jamie unveil some truly shocking news to Beth — and not just his plan to "remove the threat" of John Dutton as governor of Montana. Jamie and Beth's rivalry has reached a boiling point, setting the second half of season five up for some serious intrigue.
Meanwhile, Rip and some members of the bunkhouse crew (including Ryan, whose decision to depart Montana led to a rift with his new flame Abby) are headed down to Texas to move a herd of cattle. (Beth promised to book some swanky hotel rooms and meet up with Rip along the way.) Presumably, they're headed to the 6666 ranch, which just so happens to be the setting of the Lone Star State spinoff featuring Jimmy (Jefferson White) and Walker (Ryan Bingham). Will the crew's time in Texas serve as a teaser for Taylor Sheridan's latest chapter in the Yellowstone saga? It remains to be seen. I just know I can't wait for more time with the Duttons.
When Will Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 Premiere?

With the news of an extended number of episodes in season 5, fans are clamoring to know when they can see the rest of the story play out. Following the mid-season finale on Jan. 1, when will Yellowstone return? The series was set to return this summer, and a teaser for the second half of season 5 was shared at the end of the mid-season finale.
In the weeks that followed, rumors began swirling that the series might not actually be coming back at all, and that Kevin Costner would be exiting his role as John Dutton due to scheduling conflicts with his new western saga Horizon. Everyone from Costner's lawyer to various cast members has responded to the rumors, saying that the movie star is far from done with the Duttons and that they are working on bringing the series back.
As of this time, Paramount Network has not yet announced the exact date of the show's return as production has yet to actually begin.

Yellowstone season 5 is supersized; it includes 14 episodes — the most of any season of the show. Episode eight of season 5 aired on Jan. 1, 2023 and featured a song from Luke Grimes.
