'Wheel of Fortune' Fan Discovers Insane Pattern Involving Game Show and Divorces

A strange connection between 'Wheel of Fortune' and divorces has been found by a diehard fan of the show. It's pretty insane stuff.

Wheel of Fortune is one of those classic game shows where you always know what you're going to get. Some pretty funny answers, but mostly just hoping the best character on the podium that day wins something nice. But, it turns out that you can figure out whether people on the show win or lose an even bigger game... marriage!

As reported by the New York Times, a pretty big Wheel of Fortune fan trawled through thousands of episodes. And what he found is pretty crazy.

So, you know how a lot of people on the show introduce themselves to the host, whether that's Pat Sayjack or Vanna White? (Yes, he did analyse that many episodes that the host changed!)

Well, they often go on about their partners. And different men talk about their wives in different ways. So, Wheel of Fortune diehard Joey on TikTok went through over 2,000 episodes to find out the differences between the men who complimented their wives and the ones that didn't.

In his own words, he "followed up to see how many of these men were kicked to the curb." His post shows an Excel spreadsheet with the summaries of the numbers.

These 'Wheel of Fortune' Stats Are Pretty Wild

And what he found is pretty insane. So, out of 2,855 male contestants, 2,016 mention their wife. Pretty standard stuff, right? Your partner is the biggest part of your life, after all.

Of those - and this is a pretty heartwarming statistic - 82% mentioned a complimentary adjective about their wife. These include "gorgeous", "beautiful", that sort of thing. Of those 1,650 or so men, 5.48% got divorced within five years of their respective episode airing.

But, of the 356 men who didn't compliment their wife, the number is a shocking 15.45% - almost 10% higher!

Of course, he just had to run the same numbers on the Big Winners, the ones that won $40,000 or more. 7% of the complimentary adjective men ended up divorcing within five years, whilst a staggering 17.2% of non-complimentary men did.

What crazy statistics work! While I like Wheel of Fortune, I don't see myself watching 2,000 episodes worth!
