the January 9 episode of the show aired during the anniversary celebrations, where the crew pulled off a mighty surprise. To YouTube, hosts Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White shared the clip of an on-set proposal after providing a little context.
"We're celebrating milestones in honor of our 50th anniversary and actually had one happen earlier in the week right here on the set," Seacrest announced.
"Robin, the boyfriend of former contestant Rhea, reached out for our help in asking her a big question. With [announcer Jim Thornton], we created a bit of a ruse." White continued.
Rhea was told that she was returning to the show purely to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Instead, she was there so her boyfriend could propose to her.
They then shared the clip, which showed Rhea solving a puzzle. Hilariously, she popped the question herself in a way, as the puzzle read, "Will You Marry Me?"
At that moment, her suave boyfriend, Robin, walked onto set with a brilliant smile. It took a second after seeing him for her to realize what was going on. Her mouth dropped.
Holding each other's hands, Robin got down to one knee and asked Rhea to marry him. She said yes.
