Longtime Wheel of Fortune host Jim Thornton is already feeling the aftereffects of his recent incident that took place on an airplane.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Television said that the Wheel of Fortune host had been suspended while they conduct an investigation into the incident. And that he would be recast for the time being."
"We have recently been made aware of allegations concerning Jim Thornton," the company said in a statement to the outlet. "He has been suspended from Wheel of Fortune, and we are recasting while we conduct a thorough investigation."
Wheel of Fortune Announcer Suspended After Plane Incident
Thornton's suspension comes as a result of an American Airlines flight that he took back on May 14. As first reported by TMZ, the Wheel of Fortune host had gotten into a dispute with another passenger during the flight.
It remains unclear what sparked the altercation. But it was enough for the passenger to alert a flight attendant about the host's behavior. Law enforcement met Thornton at the gate once the flight landed.
"Sources with direct knowledge tell us the pilot called ahead to have law enforcement meet Thornton when they arrived at the gate," the outlet wrote. However, he was not taken into custody upon being met at the gate.
In light of the allegations surrounding the Wheel of Fortune announcer, his attorney told TMZ that when Thornton spoke with law enforcement, it was determined that there was no "wrongdoing" on his part.
"He [did] not engage in any illegal conduct. Was not arrested, and has not been charged with any crime," Thorton's attorney said in a statement to the outlet. "When questioned about the complaint made by a fellow passenger on the flight, law enforcement spoke to him for five minutes or less. Immediately determined that no wrongdoing had occurred, and told my client he was free to go."
