If you won big on the lotto, would you let anyone know, or would you keep it all to yourself? One mother is patting herself on the back for bringing up a son who has stated that he will be sharing his $167.3 million jackpot with her.

I think with a win that big, most of us would take care of our loved ones pretty quick. I, for one, would make sure my family was comfortable before I started buying yachts and small football teams. James Shannon Farthing of Kentucky is doing just that. He even showed up with his mother to pick up the comically large jackpot cheque.
Farthing had popped into the Clark's Pump N Shop in Georgetown, KY, to buy his $2 lotto ticket. He was a regular in there, and always picks up a weekly play. "I come in here all the time," he said to WKYT. "I'm always buying [lottery tickets] 'cause I'm like 'somebody's gotta win." Well, somebody did win, and he nailed the Kentucky lotto jackpot.
It was the lucky mans mother who checked his lotto ticket for him. She called Farthing to let him know of his incredible windfall. "I would have never dreamed it; it hasn't sunken in yet," he admitted to the Kentucky Lotto. Even after taxes, the lotto jackpot is going to be generationally life changing.
Humble Plans For Kentucky Mans Lotto Jackpot
Farthing has been given the choice of either receiving a one off payment of $77.3 million or having his $167.3 million jackpot split over 30 yearly payments. The annual payouts will come to more than $5 million per year after tax. The single lotto payout will come to around $54,883,000.
Either way, he's loaded, and so is his mother, it seems. The huge lotto jackpot will be used to first pay off all his debts and then be split with his mother. "It's going to be a good Mother's Day," Grizzle said. "This is going to pay off my debt."
I expect that it will do a bit more than just pay off a few debts. The two of them could take worldwide cruises for the rest of their lives if they wanted and never pay a bill again.
