On Tuesday, March 11, Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin was arrested and charged with domestic violence after allegedly getting into a physical confrontation with his girlfriend. He is also facing drug charges as police allegedly found him in possession of a controlled substance.

According to TMZ, who were the ones who first reported the news, police officers arrived at a Torrance, California, apartment. They had received reports of a couple fighting. Upon arrival, police officers interviewed both Scantlin and his girlfriend. They were able to determine that both had engaged in a heated verbal dispute, culminating in a physical confrontation. As per the outlet, police noted the woman had visible marks on her arms.
Wes Scantlin was arrested and, while police carried out a search of his person, they found a small amount of an unnamed controlled substance. Jail records obtained by PEOPLE reveal that Scantlin was arrested at around 4:00 a.m. and was booked into jail approximately at 5:12 a.m. He was charged with domestic violence and possession of a controlled substance, He remained in jail until Saturday, March 15, after posting a $90,000 bond.
As per PEOPLE, Wes Scantlin is scheduled for two different court appearances. The first one is scheduled for March 28, while the second oneis for April 15.
Scantlin Controversies
This is far from Wes Scantlin's first controversy or arrest. Back in August 2024, he was pulled over for a traffic violation. After providing his ID, police officers discovered Scantlin had an active warrant. He had allegedly carried a weapon at an airport, according to TMZ.
Reportedly, when instructed to exit his vehicle, he refused. After several unsuccessful attempts, a crisis negotiation was brought on, to no avail. Eventually, a SWAT team was called to break his car window and shoot non-lethal pepper balls. He finally exited his vehicle and was taken to a local hospital. He was booked for the outstanding warrant and was charged with resisting arrest.
Most recently, during a charity concert with Puddle of Mudd in Florida, many concertgoers reported seeing Wes Scantlin rambling and stumbling on-stage, as per Vice. He would then took to Facebook to state that he was "roofied" by former Puddle of Mudd member, Sean Sammon.
