The son of Wendy Williams, a former TV show host, gave an update on his mother's health and well-being as she battles dementia. Her son, Kevin Hunter Jr, claims that Williams wants to "come home" and is "sober."

An Assuring Health Update On Wendy Williams
This update appeared in the comments section of an Instagram reel post. It started with Charlamagne tha God, radio host for The Breakfast Club, sharing a video of Williams. This was right before attending Hunter Jr's graduation from Florida International University.
"Congrats @topfloor_kev for graduating from @fiuinstagram with a degree in Economics," he captioned the video. Charlamagne, real name Lenard Larry McKelvey, was previously a co-host on Wendy Williams Experience.
Williams' son proceeded to comment "Thank you fam! Let's get her home." He then replied, "While I'm here quick update on my mom. She's sober and wants to come home. We're fighting to make that happen because Isolation is killing her faster than anything else."
In February 2024, Williams' family revealed that the former host was receiving treatment at a facility. Williams' health has slowly declined after doctors diagnosed the 60-year-old with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia early this year.
Luckily, she was able to attend her son's graduation alongside her father, Thomas Williams Sr, and her sister Wanda Finnie.
Williams Argues With Team About Negligence
Despite the good news, some turbulence occurred after graduation when Williams argued with her caretakers. Caught on camera by the host of We in Miami, Williams got angry at her caretakers for allegedly abandoning her mobility scooter in the middle of the street after her son's graduation dinner.
The former host yelled at her team for walking away and "leaving my s**t in the middle of the street like this." She then told her helpers to get in the car, but to "make sure it's the right car."
The person filming asked Williams about the situation, prompting her to get into more detail. "They got the wrong car, so I knocked on the door and it was the totally wrong car. They left my scooter as they walked over there."
Williams added a few more profanities when describing her mobility scooter's hefty cost. The video continued to show Williams' frustrations at her caretakers not bringing her the car properly. "Get the car over here, not over there, so I can go easily into the street for the car. They supposed to be ordering the car, that's what you're supposed to be doing."
The We In Miami host added some pertinent information by the end of the video. "Apparently they wanted her to be in her wheelchair when she was leaving the restaurant, and she wanted to walk cause she felt like she was capable of walking."
Williams' son then brought the scooter outside as Wendy walked instead of using the chair. "According to Wendy's family," he continued, "she was really upset about the disorganization and the lack of care. She indicated the car was not close to ensure she was like, even getting into the right car. It was just really messy, so she was really upset and her family was really upset, too."
