Waymo, as a company, sounds like a pretty revolutionary thing. An Uber with no awkward small talk? That sounds like heaven, at least for me! But one thing the human touch does is give you a little safety in that your driver can speak to the cops in case anything goes wrong.
But if your Waymo gets pulled over, what happens then? Well, according to KTLA 5, one Miami resident was placed in that exact scenario. And the way it was handled was pretty wild.
A viral video on social media shows a passenger recording their Waymo experience. The vehicle comes to a stop, and a police officer approaches the car. The passenger, obviously confused and bewildered, exclaims, "What do we do in this situation?"
Anyone who's ever been a passenger in a Waymo knows that customer support can come booming through the speakers if anything seems wrong. Well, that's exactly what happened. Karen from Waymo customer support chimed in on the conversation, announcing her presence and asking if everything was okay.
The officer, seemingly already aware of what was happening, responded quite cordially, all things considered. "Yeah, [the Waymo car] keeps starting and stopping, on and off."

The Cop Explains the Erratic Driving of the Waymo
The cop continued, saying that the Waymo's erratic driving had been going on for "about five to seven blocks." Shockingly, it was starting and stopping "in the middle of the road."
But, unfortunately, we don't have a conclusion to the incident, because the video ends before there's any sort of resolution. We can only hope that the passenger got to their location safely.
However, we do know that there were fortunately no injuries reported with the incident. But Waymo hasn't responded to a request for comment by the outlet.
This comes after Waymo's expansion into more areas of the country. According to a blog post on the Waymo website, Miami got a pretty big ramp-up of service starting on January 22 of this year. They boasted that over 10,000 residents were already signed up at the time, and new riders were being invited.
In any case, we're just glad there wasn't a crash!
