Watch Shania Twain Do A Backflip In a New Clearly Canadian Commercial

Shania Twain can add gymnastics to her lengthy list of talents. The 59-year-old stars in a new Clearly Canadian commercial, where she can be seen stealing a case of Clearly Canadian and running away, doing an impressive backflip as she tries to escape.

"As a proud Canadian, the fact that it's natural spring water and bottled right here is perfect—it's pure nostalgia in a bottle!" Twain says of the commercial (via People). "Getting to shoot this in the Canadian outdoors, fighting to do my own stunts (I think I can still tumble!), and sampling all the new flavors hardly felt like work."

"Getting to be in my own adventure movie for the day was pretty great," she adds.

Getting to be in the Clearly Canadian commercial is newsworthy for more than Twain's backflip. It also marks the beverage's first commercial in 34 years.

Shania Twain's Bold Stance About Country Music

Twain is arguably one of the most influential artists of the past few decades in country music. Revolutionary when she started releasing music in the '90s, Twain says the genre needs more artists like her, unafraid to branch out to other styles of music.

"It's really a full circle moment for me. I mean, I've always walked beyond the genre lines myself. And that's what the artists I grew up listening to did," Twain said when hosting the People's Choice Country Awards, held at the Grand Ole Opry. "Like Glen Campbell, who brought symphonic pop to country with 'Rhinestone Cowboy,' for example. Or Ronnie Milsap, who brought what was referred to then at the time as country blue-eyed soul."

At the time, Twain was introducing Priscilla Block and Tanner Addell, torchbearers of sorts for the next generation.

"It's so great to see that spirit carry on today," she added. "Like with our next presenters, who are adding hip hop and pop to the mix."

Twain is still moving full-speed ahead with her own career. She has a full tour schedule over the next few months, in both Canada and the United States.
