See Merle Haggard and Tammy Wynette's 'Today I Started Loving You Again' Duet

Back in 1988, Merle Haggard played a sold-out show in London's legendary Wembley Arena. The televised concert featured both live performances and interview segments with the then 51-year-old singer.

Although many did not know it at the time, the show was filmed at the tail end of one of Haggard's most difficult decades, which involved a divorce from his third wife Leona Williams, a changing musical climate that leaned toward younger artists, and issues with drug usage.

Even during these struggles, Haggard always knew how to put on a stellar show for his audience. During his show in London, he invited fellow country legend Tammy Wynette onstage for a duet version of his 1969 hit "Today I Started Loving You Again."

Both singers put everything they had into the performance, showing off their incredible vocal talents that are still unmatched today. Although country music has now lost both of these talents, we're lucky to have jaw-dropping performances like this to look back on for years to come.

Rest in peace, Merle and Tammy, we'll never forget you.
