We’ve heard several moving covers of the classic tune “Hallelujah” over the years. Now, Eric Church has added his name to the list. The singer performed a passionate cover of the song during his concert on Aug. 8 at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado.

Armed with just his guitar, Church took on the song and nailed it. The intense performance left the audience in awe. One YouTube user who was at the show commented on the video, “Possibly the best 4 minutes of live music I have ever seen.”

Leonard Cohen originally wrote “Hallelujah” in 1984, but Church chose to perform Jeff Buckley’s version. Buckley made the song famous when he re-recorded it in 1994. Buckley’s version is typically what you hear people singing today. The tune also received a big boost after being featured in the 2001 movie Shrek.

Church has made multiple big announcements in the last month: His 2017 Holdin’ My Own Tournew single and newly-launched furniture line
