Waffle House turns 63 this year and the iconic restaurant chain is pulling out all the stops for their big celebration. As part of Waffle House National Waffle Week, waffle fans will have the chance to indulge in blueberry waffles, check out the Waffle House Food Truck, visit the Waffle House Museum, and see a country music legend.
The Waffle House National Waffle Week celebration runs September 2-8.
"National Waffle Week provides an opportunity for all the waffle fanatics nationwide to come together to profess their love of waffles," Shelby White, Waffle House Senior Marketing Manager, said. "And this year's celebration will be bigger and better for everyone in the Waffle Nation."
For a limited time, all Waffle House locations will offer their fan-favorite breakfast treat, blueberry waffles. Local restaurants will also host their own National Waffle Week celebrations.
If you're in the Atlanta area, the Waffle House food truck will be making surprise pop-up visits beginning on Sept. 4. Fans can follow Waffle House on social media for clues on when and where the food truck will appear. At each stop people can enjoy free waffles, including the limited-edition blueberry waffle, and win other Waffle House prizes.
On Sept. 8, Waffle House National Waffle Week ends with a public event at the Waffle House Museum from noon to 3 p.m. The museum is located in Avondale Estates, Georgia, at the site of the first Waffle House restaurant. Country music hall of famer "Whisperin' Bill" Anderson, an Avondale Estates native, will be the guest of honor.
"Since opening its doors in 2008, the Waffle House museum has seen many thousands of the waffle faithful make the pilgrimage to Avondale Estates," said White. "And we are excited that 'Whisperin' Bill' will be joining us this year."
Waffle House has 1,900 restaurants in 25 states; the American chain is known for being one of the few places to be open during natural disasters.
