Virginia Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein's many victims and accusers, died by suicide on Thursday, April 24, at the age of 41. This comes weeks after suffering a serious accident involving a bus and after she raised allegations of domestic violence and physical assault against her husband, Robert Giuffre.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Giuffre's family confirmed that Virginia died on April 24 in Neergabby, Australia.
"Giuffre lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking," the statement reads."Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors. Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone so bright. She will be missed beyond measure. The light of her life were her children Christian, Noah, and Emily."
Western Australia Police Force shared a statement with people detailing that they responded to Giuffre's residence in Neergabby, finding her unresponsive. While they rendered emergency first aid, Virginia Giuffre was pronounced dead at the scene.
Accident And Abuse Allegations
Weeks before her death, Virginia Giuffre shared that she had suffered an accident after being hit by a school bus. She claimed she only had days to live.
"I've gone into kidney renal failure, they've given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology," Giuffre wrote on Instagram on March 30, "I'm ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes."

Moreover, days after sharing about her accident, she talked publicly about the alleged abuse she had suffered at the hands of her husband of 22 years, Robert Giuffre.
"I was able to fight back against Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein who, abused and trafficked me," Veronica said in a statement shared with PEOPLE. "But I was unable to escape the domestic violence in my marriage until recently. After my husband's latest physical assault, I can no longer stay silent."
It was confirmed by one of Giuffre's spokespersons that she had reported an assault incident on January 9, 2025. The pair separated in August 2023, as per the outlet. However, Robert allegedly beat Virginia while on a trip to celebrate one of their children's birthdays in January 2025.
Shockingly, Robert filed a family violence restraining order against her, alleging that Virginia acted violently against him. This prompted criticism of Virginia's statement, with many believing she intended to avoid court and her husband's restraining order filing.
Not 'Suicidal'
In a chilling post made in 2019, Virginia Giuffre said on X that she was not "suicidal." Since the news of her death, the post has gone viral.
"I am making it publicly known that in no way, shape or form am I suicidal," Giuffre wrote. "I have made this known to my therapist and GP - If something happens to me - in the sake of my family do not let this go away and help me to protect them. Too many evil people want to see me [quieted]."
