It's a 'Virgin River' Christmas: Your First Look at the Netflix Drama's Upcoming Holiday Episodes

"We did it, we found my father."

Virgin River fans are in for a treat this holiday season. For the first time in the show's history, we'll get to see the cozy town dressed in tinsel and full of Yuletide cheer. On Nov. 30, Netflix will release two Christmas-themed episodes of Virgin River to put a dramatic cap on the show's so-far jaw-dropping Season 5. From the looks of the official teaser trailer, the town of Virgin River will experience a few Christmas miracles — and, of course, a fair share of holiday disasters. Let's break it down.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Virgin River Season 5, Part 1.

Virgin River Season 5, Part 2 picks up right where we left off in the bombshell Part 1 epilogue: It's Christmastime in Virgin River, and Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) is searching for her biological father. Midway through the trailer, she happily tells Jack, "We did it. We found my father." Preacher (Colin Lawrence) adds, "He's still right here, in Virgin River." If you haven't placed your bet on Mel's paternity, now's the time.

Martin Henderson, who plays Mel's fiancé Jack, told Netflix's Tudum that Virgin River Christmas will feature a tree-lighting contest, Jack and Mel on the hunt for something "very personal" (like, you know, a father) and some long-hidden secrets about the town's history:

"The community event is the Christmas tree light competition. So of course, Hope and Doc are very competitive about that. Everyone's trying to outdo each other. Mel and Jack are on a scavenger hunt for a very personal [thing] — I can't give it away, though — which leads them to all sorts of new and unexpected histories of Virgin River. A few skeletons in the closet."

The trailer also shows a down-and-out Preacher worried sick about the body the police found in the forest, which is probably the remains of Paige's abusive ex-husband. In another dramatic tease, we see Mel poised to deliver Charmaine's twins at the clinic. Calvin is notably absent from the scene. Elsewhere, a terrified Lizzie tells Hope that she's not sure she can handle being a mother, and Brie and Brady look ready to reignite their romance under the mistletoe.

Henderson teased that Jack and Mel's families would bring their own drama to Virgin River in the upcoming episodes. "The Sheridans come to town. Mel's family's not there, except for Joey and Nate and their kids. And there's a bit of drama around that. And then we have the big Sheridan family Christmas, but of course my parents are in the middle of a divorce, so there's a little bit of tension there, to say the least. Jack and Brie have to be the brokers of peace. So there's lots. It's just your typical Virgin River Christmas!"

Knowing Virgin River, Christmastime in the small town is anything but typical. Producer and writer Erin Cardillo promised Tudum that Season 5, Part 2 will go out with a bang:

"There'll be a lot more questions and a lot more cliff-hangers in Season 5," said Cardillo.

Virgin River Season 5, Part 2 premieres Nov. 30 on Netflix.
