You've probably heard about, or even seen, those viral squishy dumpling toys. They've become a bit of a TikTok fad - fidget spinners, anyone? - and kids just can't get enough.
Of course, there are higher quality ones and there are lower quality, unofficial ones. And now, certain brands of the viral toys have been recalled, per the New York Post.

What Specific Viral Toys are Affected?
The specific toys include two admittedly adorable squishy dumpling products from two brands: GIHNJSI's Squeezy Dumplings, and OKK Trading's Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns.
Both affected products had water beads within them - which, per the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, can cause severe injuries. The beads may "expand within the child's belly, causing choking, intestinal blockage, severe discomfort, and even the risk of death".
The GIHNJSI products were sold on Amazon in May and June - and over 8,000 were affected. The squeezables aren't easily identifiable - but look for these signs:
- A package looking similar to a bamboo steamer, labelled "SQUEEZY DUMPLINGS", or "SQUEEZE ME".
- Cartoon faces on a round and glittery "dumpling".
On the other hand, over 7,200 OKK Trading's Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun Toys were sold at numerous stores nationwide, between May and August 2026. Similar to the GIHNJSI products, look for the following:
- A package also looking similar to a bamboo steamer, labelled "Rainbow MYSTERY" and "SUGAR EDITION".
- Similar cartoon faces on a round and glittery "dumpling".
It is important to note that, as of the recall period, there have been no injuries from this specific product. However, scores of the other viral squishy toys have caused injuries and even hospitalizations.
What Should I Do if My Toy is Affected?
The CPSC has advised anyone with the recalled products to discard of them. They said that, in order to avoid any possibility of harm, they should write, "RECALLED" in permanent marker on the toy itself.
They also advised that anyone who sends a picture of their toy with "RECALLED" written on it will receive a full refund. The e-mails are as followed:
