Timeless Candies That'll Remind You of Halloween in the '70s & '80s

If you grew up in the '70s or '80s, you definitely remember Razzles. My first introduction to vintage Halloween candy was from the movie 13 Going on 30. Jenna and Matt's obsession with Razzles was adorable and represented a classic part of childhood.

I'm sure the writing team behind 13 Going on 30 knows they can take credit for putting many people my age on the Razzles bandwagon. Do you have any retro candies you still eat today?

Our Favorite Vintage Halloween Candy

1. Razzles

The original Razzles to kick off the list. Kids might recognize these, thanks to Jennifer Garner.

2. Candy Cigarettes

The customer reviews are amazing! One customer said they're the same flavor and texture she remembers from her childhood. I think we can all agree these are a blast from the past.

3. Atomic Fireballs

If you grew up on Atomic Fireballs, I could only assume Fireball is your drink of choice. I honestly can't think of any other prominent cinnamon candies, so pass these out to trick-or-treaters for an intense taste of cinnamon.

 4. Pop Rocks

Pop Rocks are a staple vintage candy! There's nothing like the taste of sugary strawberries exploding in your mouth.

5. PEZ Candy

PEZ Candy dispensers are known for the variety of character dispensers. From Marvel, Nintendo, and Stranger Things, PEZ has ample amounts of themed dispensers you can choose from.

Some would say the taste is chalky, but it's definitely the dispensers that give PEZ their status. Maybe this is a kid's first introduction to the world of cool PEZ dispensers. They make great collectibles!

6. Bit-O-Honey

Throwback! If you grew up on Necco wafers and Mary Janes, then you know about these.  Bit-O-Honey candy is a favorite for those who love chewy candy.

7. Candy Corn

How could I not include candy corn in this list? Love it or hate it, it's a staple Halloween candy.

8. Baby Ruth

"RUTH! RUTH! BABY! RUTH!" Sloth knew these were going to be delicious!

9. Bazooka Bubble Gum

You can keep your black licorice, dark chocolate, and jaw breakers! Bubble gum is the best. Kiddos won't get the comics with their new bubble gum, but it's still worth trying. You'll be able to pass out 225 pieces with this candy container in October.

10. Caramel Apple Pops

Caramel Apple Pops are delicious! Green apple and caramel are some of the best combinations ever.

11. Vanilla Cow Tales

A classic for caramel lovers!

12. Runts

The bananas are the best part!

13. Whatchamacallit Candy Bars

A timeless candy bar! Definitely deliciously crispy. Whatchamacallits will be a favorite vintage candy for trick-or-treaters.

14. Bottle Caps

The perfect candy for soda lovers. Who doesn't love root beer!? Willy Wonka Candies gave us some of the best sweets. From Laffy Taffy, Fun Dip, and more. They're such an iconic candy company.

15. Candy Necklaces

Candy necklaces. A huge part of our childhoods. An arts and crafts project in 2nd period, and a snack at the end of the day.

16. Reese's Pieces

On June 11, 1982, many people watched E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial for the first time and have been obsessed with Reese's Pieces ever since. Pair Reese's Pieces with popcorn for a sweet and salty snack.

These are perfect for peanut butter lovers.

17. Candy Buttons

Stripping these little sugary buttons off paper will surely excite trick-or-treaters when they try them for the first time!

18. Chiclets

One of the most iconic gums '80s kids loved, besides Big League Chew.

19. Wax Lips

"Play now, chew later." Wax Lips look hilarious until you realize you've got a big piece of candy on your face. Then it's time to devour them.

20. Nik-L-Nip Wax Bottles

These mini wax bottles are filled with sugary juice! After you drink the juice, you can eat the wax bottles. It's double the treats!

Trick-or-treating at your place will be an introduction to a lot of vintage candy. They'll get a lot of Kit-Kats and M&M's at many other houses, but you can give them the vintage goodies you grew up with.

Don't you just miss going to the candy store? Picking up penny candy with the change in your pocket was always fun. Whether you love lollipops, hard candy, smarties, sour candy, chocolate candy, or licorice, there's still that one special nostalgic candy that will bring you down memory lane.
