That's what Fox News Channel viewers were wondering after his show on Tuesday, June 23. As the pundit broke down the results of the evening's primary elections and interviewed White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller, observers couldn't help but notice his swollen appearance. His voice also sounded raspy.

Sean Hannity Addressed the Concerns

As concerns about his appearance grew, Hannity took to X to explain the sudden change in his voice and appearance.

"Thanks to everyone who has checked in," he began. "I've already addressed this several times on my radio show, but while training, I developed a painful pinched nerve in my neck."

He added, "My doctor put me on prednisone to reduce the inflammation, and while it's helping, it led to laryngitis and some puffiness, which is normal for this medication."

According to Mayo Clinic, prednisone is a steroid prescribed to treat swelling, severe allergies, and certain skin conditions. It works on the immune system to relieve inflammation, redness, and allergic reactions.

In addition to swelling and raspy breathing, side effects include dizziness, blurred vision, and irritability.

The Fox News Channel Host Took a Swipe at His Critics

Hannity then assured fans that, despite the noticeable side effects from the prednisone, it's still business as usual for the pundit.

"I'm fine, recovering well, and still training, but apparently a few weeks of prednisone has generated more social media commentary than 30 years of ratings success," he wrote.

He then used the moment to take a swipe at his critics.

"I appreciate all the concern and well wishes—including from members of the left-wing media," he concluded. "Sorry to disappoint them, but a pinched nerve, a raspy voice, and a puffy face aren't taking me out anytime soon."

Hopefully, Hannity is being well taken care of by his fiancé, Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt. The two announced their engagement in 2024.
